Derek Vincent Smith aka Pretty Lights landed in Calgary last night for Snowblower, a free outdoor music festival made ice-hot by PK Events as part of High Performance Rodeo. Armed with a sack of samples and a Monome 128, the Colorado-based producer served 2,000 toqued-up souldiers a sonic sushi roll of soulful glitch-hop and grimey wobbles dripping with horns, funk and dubwise sublines. We'll be talking about this one for a while.
